Description:

This Pet Nat rocks in a glass: Imagine red grapefruit, peach, red apple, melon, and orange blossom. Add to that a hint of butter, yeast, and lemon.

I can recommend PET NAT as an aperitif in good company, as an accompaniment to dishes with shrimp, crab or squid. But it's also a hit with Asian food.

The grapes for PET-NAT come from the vineyards of Dobrovo in the Brda region of Slovenia, right on the border with Friuli, Italy.

The grape varieties consist of 10% Malvasia, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Sauvignon Vert (Jakot) and 30% Pinto Gris.

The grapes were harvested by hand and, after gentle pressing, placed in a stainless steel tank to begin fermentation. During fermentation, the wine was bottled directly to preserve its natural effervescence. Subsequent aging on the lees for at least two months gives the PET-NAT additional complexity and structure.

In October 2022, only 5000 bottles were filled in total, making it a rarity that I am happy to be able to offer here.
