Description: Bruno Giacosa is considered one of the most precise interpreters of Nebbiolo in Piedmont. His reputation is based not so much on quantity as on uncompromising selection: only the best sites, only great vintages. The wines from Barolo and Barbaresco combine aristocratic structure with delicate fragrance. Characteristic features are transparency, acidic tension, and long-lasting tannins. Giacosa worked traditionally, without fashionable extraction or excessive barrique use. His red labels mark the top bottlings – rare, strictly selected, and in great vintages almost canonical, appreciated worldwide by lovers of classic, long-distance Nebbioli.

The wine is an exceptional cuvée from the Santo Stefano and Gallina vineyards. 1990 was the only vintage since the mid-1960s in which Giacosa bottled a Barbaresco Riserva without a single vineyard designation.
