The Amarone area is located in the Italian region of Veneto and is known worldwide for its eponymous wine, a dry, full-bodied red wine. Amarone is made from dried grapes, giving it unique aromas of raisins, plums and spices. The vineyards are located on steep hills and have calcareous soils that give the grapes good structure and minerality. The region is heavily influenced by Lake Garda and the nearby Adige River and offers ideal climatic conditions for growing wine.
