Description: Château Sociando-Mallet is one of the most respected wineries in the Haut-Médoc and, despite not being classified, enjoys the reputation of a true top cru. The winery is located in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne north of Saint-Estèphe, with an impressive view of the Gironde. Günzian gravel soils over deep clay-limestone subsoil characterize its powerful, long-lived wines. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc combine to create a classic Médoc style with dark fruit, graphite, cedar, striking tannins and remarkable freshness. Sociando-Mallet stands for character, depth and excellent aging potential at an often surprisingly fair price level for Bordeaux.
