Description:

Salon produces, when it produces at all, approximately 40,000 to 60,000 bottles per vintage (calculated on a 0.75-liter basis; the proportion of magnums is increasing). The wine continues to be largely based on two original selection parcels in the center of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger , near the current joint Salon-Delamotte winery.

In addition, there are around 20 contracted vineyard plots totaling approximately 30 acres (about 12 hectares) that are exclusively reserved for Salon. Most of these are cultivated by the winery itself, and each plot is vinified separately .

However, the "exclusively for Salon" claim needs to be put into perspective:
Since its commercial launch in 1921, Salon has been produced in fewer than 40 vintages (the exact number is disputed). In years when no Salon is declared , the grapes are used in the Delamotte blends .
