Gamay at the highest level:
From a small cellar in Saint-Maurice-ès-Allier, Benoit Rosenberger produces energetic natural wines on 3 hectares of old Gamay vines (50–80 years old) at elevations of up to 500 meters. Inspired by Frédéric Gounan, the Sancerre-born winemaker works entirely without additives—neither copper nor sulfur—but with plant extracts. His wines, characterized by basalt, sand, and granite, are vibrant, deep, and absolutely full of character—uncompromisingly vinified and exceptionally exciting.
Drinking maturity & storage potential: Already drinkable now with lively fruit and excitement, but the solid structure and complexity allow it to mature further and gain depth over ≥ 5 years.
