Description:
Domaine Stéphane Bernaudeau is a winery located in the Anjou wine region, south of Angers in the Loire Valley. Founded in 2000, the estate is managed by its namesake, Stéphane Bernaudeau, according to biodynamic principles. The wines are characterized by minimal intervention and are made from individual blocks or plots of vines. The most well-known is Les Nourissons, a 0.7-hectare plot of Chenin Blanc planted in 1910. Chenin Blanc dominates production, while Les Ongles is a two-hectare vineyard site planted with this grape variety. Les Vrilles, on the other hand, comes from a 0.4-hectare plot of Cabernet Sauvignon. Bernaudeau also owns some Grolleau Noir. Although geographically within the Anjou appellation, Bernaudeau's wines are produced under the Vin de France designation.
