Description:
Domaine Stéphane Bernaudeau is a winery in the Anjou wine region, south of Angers in the Loire Valley. Founded in 2000, the estate is managed by its namesake, Stéphane Bernaudeau, according to biodynamic principles. The wines are characterized by minimal intervention and are produced from single blocks or parcels of vines. Les Nourissons, a 0.7-hectare Chenin Blanc plot planted in 1910, is particularly well-known. Chenin Blanc dominates production, while Les Ongles is a two-hectare vineyard dedicated to this grape variety. Les Vrilles, on the other hand, comes from a 0.4-hectare Cabernet Sauvignon plot. Bernaudeau also owns some Grolleau Noir. Although geographically within the Anjou appellation, Bernaudeau's wines are produced under the Vin de France designation.
