Description: The Cuvée Centenaire 1998 from Lucien and André Brunel is one of the greatest wines of the legendary Rhône vintage. It is based on about 80–85% Grenache from vines then about 114 years old, supplemented by Syrah and Mourvèdre. Intense aromas of cooked black cherries, raspberries, cassis, pepper, and Provençal spices characterize this monumental Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Powerful and concentrated, yet remarkably precise and harmonious, with a silky texture, exceptional purity, and an almost endless finish. Awarded 100 Parker points.

Origin: Very nice bottles with good fill levels from an air-conditioned private cellar, stored there for 20 years.
