Description:
Giuseppe Quintarelli is considered the icon of Valpolicella and shaped the region's reputation with uncompromising craftsmanship. His wines are created with exceptional patience, long maturation periods, and traditional Appassimento. The legendary Alzero is an exceptional case: a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, vinified in the Amarone style with months of grape drying and years of barrel aging. The result is a monumental, profound cult wine of impressive concentration, elegance, and almost limitless aging potential. In the 1985 vintage, the Alzero was still exclusively made from Cabernet Franc. Giuseppe Quintarelli passed away in 2012 at the age of 85. His life's work is now continued with the same dedication and uncompromising quality standards by his daughter and son-in-law Gianpaolo, as well as his grandchildren.
Origin: The wines come from a renowned private collector's cellar in Munich, expertly stored for years under constant temperature and humidity conditions.
